Nominations are now being accepted for the 2023 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Technology Awards. The awards honor contributions in digital leadership, broadcast engineering and technology innovation, and will be presented during the 2023 NAB Show, held April 15 - 19 in Las Vegas.

The broadcast television and radio industry would lose $2.1 billion in digital advertising revenue annually, representing 6.3% of the industry’s total advertising revenue, if third-party cookies were eliminated today with no privacy-preserving alternatives, according to a new study released by Borrell Associates. Jim Brown, President at Borrell Associates, presented the study, commissioned the National Association of Broadcasters' (NAB) innovation wing PILOT, at NAB Show New York.

Proposals for technical papers and panel sessions are now being accepted for the NAB Show Broadcast Engineering and IT (BEIT) Conference, taking place April 15-19, 2023 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Selected papers will be presented during the program and included in the official "Proceedings of the 2023 Broadcast Engineering and IT Conference."

PILOT has announced it is conducting a program with support of the Google News Initiative to improve direct-to-consumer audience engagement to better serve local audiences. The six-month program is designed to support broadcaster education as well as the implementation of first-party data and direct- to-consumer business models.
PILOT announced the development of a NextGen TV Transmitter ID (TxID) table for voluntary use by broadcasters using the ATSC 3.0 transmission standard. The table and TxID codes can be used to identify individual transmissions for testing, measurement, interference identification and other differentiation purposes.
