Based at the Hearst Tower in New York, HearstLab is a greenhouse for nurturing women-led startups in their early stages. With a focus on startups offering innovations in media, business information and technology, HearstLab invests financially in the companies, as well as provides assistance in building teams and refining products. While in residence, each startup is matched with a wide range of resources and people that provide expertise, mentorship, connectivity and hands-on help. Participating startups are selected for having a product that addresses a particular problem or capitalizes on an opportunity. A group of Hearst’s female leaders, called HearstLab Scouts, are at the core of the initiative, backing its creation, growth and continued operation.
