NAB to Present Engineering Achievement and Digital Leadership Awards at NAB Amplify Event

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) will host a special event June 17th at 2 p.m. EDT on NAB Amplify to announce and celebrate the 2021 recipients of the NAB Engineering Achievement Awards and Digital Leadership Award.The special session titled “The Future of Media and NAB Technology Awards” kicks off with a keynote conversation with Mike Chapman, a partner and Americas Media Lead at Kearney, a management consulting firm specializing in corporate and growth strategy and business transformation. Chapman will discuss the future of media, including trends to watch, with Sam Matheny, executive vice president and chief technology officer of NAB.

NAB Show Premiere Session to Explore Emerging Benefits of Edge Technology for Broadcasters

NAB Show Premiere will examine the future impact of edge technology on radio and television broadcasters during a session titled “Livin’ on the Edge: Advances in Computing and Networking to Drive Innovation in Broadcasting.” The session, which will air on Wednesday, April 21st at 3 p.m. ET and be available on-demand, will present a new study about opportunities created by wider adoption of edge technologies in the next three to four years.

PILOT Awards 2021 Round of Media Technology and Innovation Scholarships

PILOT has announced this year’s recipients of its annual media technology and innovation scholarships. The awards, valued at $2,500 each, will be presented to four college students—two undergraduate and two graduate—for pursuit of studies related to broadcast or media technology and innovation. The scholarship program was launched in 2019 and is administered in partnership with the Broadcast Education Association (BEA).
