WASHINGTON, D.C.– The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced that LAKANA, an enterprise technology, content management and monetization platform, has joined its PILOT coalition as the eighth charter member. PILOT brings together leading-edge companies, organizations and educators to advance broadcast technology and innovation.
NAB’s PILOT coalition consists of broadcasting and technology stakeholders, such as new media broadcast operators, measurement and attribution companies, advertising partners and technology providers. Among other goals, PILOT’s working groups and committees strive to drive the creation and implementation of new technologies and solutions for the media industry.
LAKANA, PILOT’s newest charter member, powers over 250 local broadcast digital media websites. Its innovative platforms reach 75 percent of US DMAs and 180 million unique users per month. LAKANA offers a comprehensive suite of experience management, engagement and monetization solutions that enable media publishers to successfully operate profitable businesses.
“We are pleased to welcome LAKANA as a charter member of PILOT as we work to connect traditional and new media partners to drive innovation,” said NAB Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Sam Matheny. “Forward-thinking companies like LAKANA are creating solutions to help media companies succeed in today’s rapidly changing business environment, and through PILOT, we hope to leverage their collective expertise to help our industry thrive in today’s new media landscape.”
“We are grateful to have the opportunity to be a PILOT program charter member,” said Elizabeth Osder, LAKANA’s head of revenue. “LAKANA is committed to collaborating with leading technology partners to deliver smart, data-driven platform solutions that improve our customers editorial and business performance. We look forward to working together with NAB and PILOT members to bring new technology and innovation to our industry.”
Charter members of PILOT will help define key areas for development of innovative technologies and services for media companies with a focus on multi-platform digital distribution. As associate members of NAB, PILOT members will also participate in NAB technology program development, conventions and networking events.
