The PILOT Innovation Challenge specifically seeks products or prototypes that align with three focus areas of the 2024 NAB Show associated with the content lifecycle: Create, Capitalize and Connect. It is designed to identify startups and growing companies providing solutions to some of the key challenges and opportunities facing broadcasters over the next two to three years. The winners are selected by a panel of broadcast industry representatives. This session will showcase the three winners of the 2024 PILOT Innovation Challenge.

Developing for ATSC 3.0 Through the PILOT NEXTGEN TV Fellowship

Hear from students of both Howard University and the University of Missouri who developed NEXTGEN TV applications through the PILOT Fellowship with support from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Alongside industry experts, the fellows gained practical, first-hand experience with NEXTGEN TV technology. The unique, eight-month program included product training, seminars and one-on-one coaching with NEXTGEN TV standard experts and AWS representatives. The fellows will demonstrate their app and discuss their process for conceptualizing and developing their idea.

Join us for this press conference detailing Futures Park, a special section of the NAB Show exhibit floor reserved for presentation of today’s edge-of-the-art media technologies from research and development facilities around the world. Exhibitors are selected by NAB for inclusion in Futures Park based on their relevance and interest to broadcasters. Also, the winner of the NAB Technology Innovation Award will be announced for demonstration of advanced R&D projects that have not yet been commercialized.
