PILOT Announces Winning Teams for 2023 Innovation Challenge
PILOT announced Hour One, Backlight and TSV Analytics as the winners of the 2023 PILOT Innovation Challenge. The winners will receive a trip to the 2023 NAB Show, April 15–19, in Las Vegas, with exhibit space on the convention floor in which to demonstrate their products to potential customers, investors and partners.
NAB Names Lora Dennis as 2023 Digital Leadership Award Honoree
The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that Lora Dennis, executive vice president of Digital Media for NBCUniversal Local, is the recipient of the 2023 Digital Leadership Award. She will receive the award at the NAB Broadcasting Hall of Fame Ceremony, held on the Main Stage of the 2023 NAB Show on April 17 at 1 p.m.
NAB Announces 2023 Engineering Achievement Award Honorees
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced that Beasley Media Group’s Michael Cooney and NBCUniversal Local’s H. Douglas Lung are the recipients of the 2023 NAB Engineering Achievement Awards. They will be honored at the We Are Broadcasters Awards, held on the Main Stage of the 2023 NAB Show on April 18 at 10 a.m.
Channeling ATSC 3.0: Less (DTV) is More (NEXTGEN TV)
A previous blog in this series noted that ATSC was engaged in the process of adapting the ATSC-1 DTV standard documentation so that it was compliant with MPEG-4 (also known as AVC) implementations that are known to work in the marketplace with legacy receivers. That work was completed with the approval of A/53 Part3: 2013 Amendment No. 1 “AVC Signal Transport” on February 15, 2023.
