Industry Technologists Look Forward to 2024
We wanted to know what technologists in our industry are excited about and expect or hope to see in 2024, so we asked the NAB Technology staff and a few other luminaries in the industry if they had anything to share. They did. This compilation of predictions is our way to wrap up 2023 by looking forward to 2024.
PILOT Opens Call for Innovators to Shape the Future of Broadcasting
PILOT is now accepting submissions for the 2024 PILOT Innovation Challenge through January 19. The program provides mentorship and promotion for winning proposals, along with an opportunity to exhibit at NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 14-17, 2024.
Humber College and NAB Jointly Organized “Protecting GPS with Resilient PNT Solutions” Seminar
On November 17, 2023, Humber College’s Broadcast–Broadband Convergence B²C Lab, in collaboration with NAB, hosted a PNT focused seminar that introduced and demonstrated Broadcast Positioning System (BPS). The event was attended by government and industry representatives from both the U.S. and Canada.
NRSC Publishes New Guidelines on Metadata for Streaming Audio and AM Carrier Synchronization
The National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC) is a technical standards-setting body cosponsored by NAB and the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). In October, the NRSC’s three subcommittees met in New York in conjunction with NAB Show New York 2023 and each adopted a new document, which have now all been published on the NRSC website and may be downloaded free of charge.
