NAB co-funded the development of FM radio APIs and integration standards to enable the widespread deployment of FM radio functionality in Android smartphones. The PILOT FM Radio SDK was created to make FM radio API technology available to Android software developers interested in building apps that support FM radio in compatible devices containing an accessible FM radio IC.

Within the SDK, developers will find information on how to use the software, a detailed JavaDocs description of the functionality supported by the software package, and access to a sample app. Compatibility of this software has been confirmed (as of March 2018) with a variety of Android devices. You can see the list of supported devices here.

The FM Radio SDK is available to NAB members for free. Non-members are subject to a license fee.
