Realizing the Benefits of ATSC 3.0 Next Generation Broadcasting
Wednesday, October 22 | 3:15-4 p.m., 174 Theater C
The transition of television broadcasting from DTV (or ATSC 1.0) to ATSC 3.0 is in full swing with many stations on the air via “ATSC 3.0 lighthouses” and numerous NEXTGEN TV receivers sold. However, completing the transition requires that traditional DTV transmissions must end so that each broadcaster has access to their full licensed RF channel to realize the full benefits of ATSC 3.0. This session will discuss the capabilities of the ATSC 3.0 system, the progress on the ATSC 3.0 transition plan and what stations need to do, and exciting new forms of programming.
Speakers:
Madeleine Noland, president, ATSC
Dan Whealy, president and owner, Heartland Video Systems
Moderator:
Lynn Claudy, senior vice president of Technology, National Association of Broadcasters
The session theater can be found in the rear of the exhibit hall as shown in the map below.
