PILOT has developed an SDK for FM Radio in smartphones so you can develop apps that include FM capabilities.

Access SDK

FM radio is a worldwide standard and more and more smartphones around the world are able to receive free, over-the-air FM radio signals.  PILOT has funded development of an FM application program interface (API) for accessing and controlling the FM chip in many popular Android smartphones, and is making this API available to app developers through the PILOT FM Radio SDK portal.

Using this portal, developers can download the SDK, review documentation on the features of the API and a detailed description of the commands available, access and test a sample app, and register apps being developed.  Also included is a list, updated periodically, of Android phones which have been tested to be compatible with the PILOT FM Radio SDK.
